Our academic connections

Rho's strength is bolstered by academia

From the start, we have been deeply rooted in academia. It began with our founder, Ron Helms, who is a Professor Emeritus in the renowned Department of Biostatistics at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (UNC-CH), and our link to academia continues today. Many of our key staff members continue to serve as faculty and board members at UNC-CH and other universities. In addition to Ron, three more members of our staff are professors in UNC-CH’s Department of Biostatistics. Our affiliations also include UNC-CH's School of Dentistry and Campbell University.

We also maintain a strong connection with UNC-CH and North Carolina State University through our Graduate Research Assistant Program, which serves as an enriching training environment for several students each year. The students learn about clinical trial research for 20 hours per week while pursuing master's or doctoral degrees. Upon graduation, the valuable time they spent with us makes them well equipped to pursue a wide range of careers, whether here at Rho or at another innovative, scientifically focused company.
