Clinical Research Operations and Management Support (CROMS) for the National Institute of Dental and Craniofacial Research (NIDCR)

Building the infrastructure to support groundbreaking treatments for dental diseases and disorders

The Clinical Research Operations and Management Support (CROMS) contract provides comprehensive clinical research operations support, management, and data coordinating services for clinical research sponsored by the National Institute of Dental and Craniofacial Research’s (NIDCR’s) extramural and intramural research divisions. In addition, the contract provides adjunct expertise and resources to assure sound and efficient clinical study design, study execution, clinical data management and analysis, and regulatory compliance. The NIDCR supports clinical research on the cause, incidence, prevalence, prevention, and treatment of craniofacial, oral, and dental diseases and disorders.

The CROMS group at Rho is led by Dr. Samuel Arbes. It provides both NIDCR infrastructure and protocol support. The infrastructure tasks have involved the development of a CROMS Web portal from which the NIDCR leadership can access study-specific Web sites and search various databases. For the protocol support, the CROMS group supports a variety of NIDCR intramural investigators who are studying new treatments for severe pain, oral cancer, and dry mouth.
